My everyday morning routine

Welcome to my morning routine. I am a university student so I have a little more free time in the mornings on the days I don’t have an early class. Every morning I wake up between 7 am and 8 am. I used to wake up pretty late, around 11 am, I was definitely NOT a morning person. I didn’t believe I could incorporate waking up early into my routine and enjoy it.

Forming the habbit

Then I realised if I wake up early every day, after approximately a month it will become a habit. So I started by staying persistent and woke up at 7 am every day. It was difficult at first but I found it important to get up straight away and have something to do, like study with a friend or go to the gym. Having a purpose for getting up made it easier to stick to the goal. After a few weeks it began to turn into a habit. 

That’s when I decided to start a morning routine to keep up the habit and it enabled me to get more done everyday. I really enjoy having more time in the morning to focus on my personal growth, whether that’s mental or physical health.

An intentional routine

I find it important to set an intentional morning routine. I always try to fill my early mornings with things important for my personal growth. This keeps me motivated to wake up early and I get plenty of time to focus on work the rest of the day. I start my day by using the first twenty minutes for spirituality, which I mostly use for meditating. After that I get dressed and do an at home workout routine.

But First… breakfast and coffee! I always start my day with a cappuccino or latte macchiato. For breakfast, lately I’ve been loving oatmeal with blueberries or bananas. 

After that I get dressed and do a home workout routine. My workout routine consists of mostly anything I can do on a mat, mostly focusing on my core strength, legs and arms. I always try to vary my workout everyday, such as covering a different area each day. Then I try some yoga poses before ending with some stretching exercises.

After exercising, my day of classes and studying begins, so I shower, change for the day and normally head out to the library or university.
