My goals for 2021

Now this is NOT a typical new years resolutions, new year new me moment, where I list everything I will achieve or change about myself this year. I think if 2020 taught me one thing it’s that you really can’t predict what life will throw at you nor make concrete strict plans to achieve/do. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t have some goals. Personally, I want my goals to be open and based on personal growth. So It wouldn’t be realistic for me to make travel goals in 2021 since I’m living in a current lockdown. But I could make a goal to be financially smart and really be intentional with my saving and spending this year. My top goal in life is always to be happy in everything I do and everywhere I go. So no matter what I achieve or set out to accomplish this is always the overall end game. That being said; here are my goals for 2021.

First, I want to practice photography. I have always been interested in photography but never took the time to really practice and improve myself. But I do struggle to find inspiration sometimes… When traveling inspiration is at every corner, taking in the new beauty of this world. However, I am realistic and see that this year might mostly be spent at home. But I hope to be able to find more beautiful pictures I can take close to home and really improve this skill. Secondly, I want to be intentional with my spending in order to optimize my savings. I want to make sure I budget well (check out my post on budgeting tips when moving and my post for daily budgeting tips). I hope that by being really intentional with my spending; I will be able be able to limit it to the necessities and have more saved for fun activities or a bigger purchase or even my future.

Lastly, I want to make sure to always follow my passion. I am currently obtaining my masters and am definitely really enjoying the whole experience. I feel that passion for what I do and I want to carry that on into work or wherever I may go next.

Although these may seem small goals, to me they are very meaningful. I believe I will be able to achieve them and really keep them in my heart for 2021. There will of course be small things I want to do or want to accomplish along the way but I try not to make them hard goals. I think that in the moment you get opportunities to follow when the time is right and setting a strict 2021 list such as taking a cooking class will restrict the new experiences waiting for you around the corner.

Life update autumn 2020

In 2020 our world was turned upside down. I don’t think any of us could have anticipated that 2020 would be such an impactful year. But here we are… The country I live in was sent into a lock down and I thankfully got to spend that time with my family. Most days staying at home. But I also got to finish my university classes online. This was a huge blessing, giving me some work every day.

During this lock down, I decided to move out of my studio apartment. The costs were too high especially considering that I didn’t stay there during the lock down and probably wouldn’t return until September. I had a job waiting for me but when the lock down began I couldn’t work there anymore. The country I live in still have some measures in place for the virus, so my university has is still offering classes online. However… BIG NEWS. I graduated my bachelor in law and am now completing my masters in law. My official ceremony is in October, and I am really hoping it can still take place as planned. Of course in a corona virus safe manner.

Since the official lock down ended, I have been spending time renovating my new home. My partner and I hope that we will be able to move in soon. I will have some blog posts coming soon about the renovation process as well as the decorating and moving process overall so stay tuned for that.

Now we are at the end of this lock down, I hope to get back into a better schedule. I loved waking up early every day and getting to work out in the morning. Sadly, I lost some of this motivation in the past few months. I want to get back into my routine and spend my days focusing on what makes me happy.

Please let me know what you have all been doing or what you are doing now the lock down has ended. I would love some inspiration for safe activities to do during these times.
